A history-making tennis season culminated in a district win against Cypress Ridge, followed by a hard-fought loss to Houston Lamar.
Cy Creek’s tennis team qualified for district by winning four out of the eight matches of their last game, which is the requirement for schools, because the district is split in half.
Two out of the three girls’ doubles won their matches. The mixed doubles won, and the singles won. The boys doubles lost, as well as some of the singles, due to the other team’s unmatched serves.
¨They played hard and tried their best, but the other teams’ serves were harder,¨ assistant tennis coach Lacy Koeppe said.
This isn’t the end for tennis, who will be practicing two days a week: JV and varsity on Tuesdays and beginners on Wednesdays in preparation for beginner match in November at Dayton High School.
