From a government teacher to a special education teacher, and even a College and Career Specialist – all these staff members make a difference to Cy Creek and all were recognized at a staff appreciation night Oct. 13.

The event was held in the Pridgeon Stadium VIP room during the double Homecoming varsity football game against Jersey Village.

Personal Financial Literacy and Government teacher, Spencer Wagley, has been a staff member at Cy Creek for two years. Wagley accredits his popularity to something unusual.

“I’m kinda weird,” Wagley said.

Special Education teacher, Steven Gruss, is new to Cy Creek this year.

“Maybe they don’t appreciate me now, but they’ll appreciate me later,” Gruss said.

Secretary Veronica Colorado and College and Career Specialist Amber Stephens help students achieve higher possibilities.

“We should never give up on a kid, because what they are doing now doesn’t predict what they will do in the future,” Stephens said

Cy Creek lost the game 49-13.
