It is crunch time for Cougar thespians as they return from Thanksgiving break, getting in readthroughs and rehearsals for their winter production of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” to be hosted Jan. 12 in the black box theatre.

“It’s been good, a little stressful because we’re under time constraints with this show,” senior and publicity lead Crystal Gooding said. “The entire show only has 27 rehearsals and that was including the readthroughs. Time-wise, as far as publicity, we’re just constantly rolling because we have to get everything done before Christmas break.”

Located in the theatre wing, left of the auditorium, the black box theatre accommodates the theatre classes this year.

“The last time we had a show in the black box was my freshman year,” Gooding said. “It’s been awhile.”

Junior Katherine Nguyen is the musical’s hair and makeup lead.

“This is my first show in the black box, and I’m excited to see the performance in the new space,” Nguyen said. “As hair and makeup lead, I have had the chance to work with numerous artistic students, most notably my hair and makeup crew as well as the lead of costumes to create a cohesive look for our characters.”
