Aug. 22nd marked the first day of school for Nicholas Helgerson, the new environmental science teacher at Cy Creek. It was also his first day as a teacher.

Helgerson’s biggest goal for this year is to make science fun despite there being students who have different interests.

“Everyone might not be interested in science, but if I could make my class fun and make a difference that would make me happy,” Helgerson said.

So far, Helgerson has enjoyed his time at Creek.

“I love Creek,” Helgerson said.“Everyone here is nice, helpful, and welcoming.”
