The marching band received superior first division ratings from all three judges at UIL on Oct. 17.
Judges give this award to bands with the best ratings possible. Junior and drum major Tomas Bryan said it felt great to win a sweepstakes at UIL.
“It was a result of every member putting in time and effort,” he said.
Band members share Bryan’s sentiment, including his brother. Junior and drum major Andres Bryan also said all the hard work by the marching band paid off.
“It felt great to make sweepstakes because all the band’s hard work finally paid off,” Andres said.
Next year, the band will compete at a state level. Tomas said that he is excited to see how the band will do.
“It felt amazing to win, but not just to win as individual, to win as a team,” Bryan said.
