Equality club continues to strive for civil rights

The GSA club starts off this semester taking part in a service project for homeless LGBT teens in Greater Houston.

The event will take place on during the holiday, January 20th, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Montrose Grace Place. The project is sponsored and created by the Human Rights Campaign, who work for equal rights for LGBT people.

The GSA club wishes to collect items for donation to this organization, which they will bring along with them on the day of the project to sort into care bags for homeless LGBT youth in our area. Other activities involved in the day at the shelter will be organizing the clothes closet and food pantry, cleaning the outside areas, and cleaning the youth room. If students want to participate along with GSA club members, sign up and donations are at English II teacher Charolette Dagget’s room, 2343.
