All freshman academy accommodates younger students

Next year administration will welcome a freshman only academy. Associate principal Maggie Wiley said ninth grade crucially affects students, and this will happen in order to increase the number of high school graduates.

“Ninth grade success indicates how the rest of high school will go for you,” Wiley said. “This is a big transition for students.”

Because freshmen year appears the least flexible than other years of high school because students are less exposed to areas of study,  the big transition causes the level of failure remain high.

The freshmen academy would offer students  the chance to figure out the programs of study that interest them, rather than to place them into an academy that may not cater to their interest. The freshmen academy will get them to experience classes they may not have known about.
